Back by popular demand the Winter Eagle Merit Badge Program will be happening Saturday mornings during January, February and March. These will be Eagle required merit badges not routinely offered at Cuyuna Summer Camp.
These merit badges are offered to all Twin Valley Council First Class Scouts BSA (or higher rank) at no cost (cost is covered by the council program fee). Those who are out-of-council Scouts, First Class rank or higher, are welcome as well for a $40 fee.
All merit badge meetings will be held at the Center for Scouting (810 Madison Avenue in Mankato) beginning promptly at 9am and lasting until noon. No food will be provided. Scouts should bring their refillable water bottle.
Scout Participation Requirements
These merit badge meetings will be an interactive discussion of the materials in the merit badge pamphlet and the required merit badge activities. The merit badge meeting is not a passive "lecture" or "class". For these meetings to be successful, participants must adhere to the following requirements.
- Scout should, at the time they sign up via the website, be at least First-Class rank.
- Scout must acquire and read the merit badge pamphlet for each merit badge signed up for prior to the merit badge meeting.
- If the troop or family does not have the merit badge pamphlet, the Scout or troop may need to purchase one for the participating Scout's use.
- Scouts who have not read, in advance, the merit badge pamphlet, should not show up for the merit badge meeting.
- Scouts shall complete all pre-requisite activities for the merit badge in advance of the meeting.
