Norseland Scout Camp 
$30 per person

BEEEEEEEEP...  The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Weather Warning...

How many times have you heard that announcement?  How many times have you sat in a basement somewhere - maybe even at camp.  But just how prepared are you if it suddenly became an actual real life emergency?  How prepared are you for no electricity, medical emergencies, no transportation, damage to your home or worse?  This spring camp-o-ree is going test your Emergency Preparedness skills.

 The plan
     Units should arrive Friday night between 5-7pm.  Eat before you arrive
     There will be a Cracker Barrel and Social Time Friday evening
     Camp wide Friendship Fire begins at 9:30pm Friday night
     Saturday morning Troops should provide breakfast for their unit
     Opening flag ceremony at 8am Saturday morning
     Merit Badges and Adult Training will be held Saturday morning until lunch
     Lunch on Saturday is provided
     Saturday afternoon will be Camp Wide Emergency Training
     Root Beer Floats begin at 4:30pm on Saturday
     Units should provide supper on Saturday night.   During this time frame there will also be games in the Meadow 
     Chapel at 8:30pm
     OA Callout happens at 9pm  ARE ALL WELCOME!
     10pm OA will host a Cracker Barrell in the Lodge for all new OA Callouts and their parents and current OA members
     Sunday morning units will begin check out using an assigned time slot.  Units will receive a list of what was covered in each merit badge class         for advancement tracking
     Everyone should be headed home by 9:30am

Cost for the event is $30 per person and includes
     Just under 48 hours of fun, skill building, learning and fellowship
     Friday night Cracker Barrel and Entertainment
     Saturday lunch
     Root Beer Floats and 75th Anniversary Celebration
     Limited Edition 75th Anniversary Commemorative Patch (only 500 produced)

Merit Badges:  Merit Badges will NOT be completed.  Merit Badges will have pre-requisites which will be out around April 3, 2023.  This list will be sent to Scoutmasters and will be available here as well.  Merit Badges are:  Emergency Preparedness, Search and Rescue, Wilderness Survival, Sign, Signals and Codes, and First Aid.

                                                         

Adult Training:  Adult training will be offered Saturday morning.  Training includes CPR ages 16+, Adult Leader Training and Youth Protection.

CPR:  Special details for the CPR class.  This class is limited to 24 people and will cost $60.  The fee covers all disposable supplies for each person and the American Red Cross certification.  Training is valid for 2 years.  It is important when you sign up for this class to enter your full name, email address (to be used to send the link for the online portion of the class), phone number and mailing address.  About 3 weeks prior to this event, you will receive the online portion of the CPR training.  You must have this completed prior to the camp-o-ree training.  If it is not completed, you will not be able to take the training and you will not receive a refund as the payment to the Red Class has already been made.

Registration is open until Friday, May 5, 2023
During the registration process Adults will be asked to answer the following questions

  • Will you be willing to help with a merit badge in the morning (all information will be provided)?
  • Will you be willing to act as a "victim" of our disaster or assist in another way in the afternoon?

Youth will be asked

  • Would you be willing to act as a "victim" in the afternoon for the disaster drill?

75th Anniversary of Norseland
As part of the cost of the Camp-o-ree, each participant will receive a commemorative 75th anniversary patch.  Only 500 made! 
You also have the option of ordering a special 75th anniversary T-shirt for the memorable occasion.  Shirts are $15.  Please select size during registration process.  Any late registrations (after May 5, 2023) will not be eligible for a Tshirt.

Each person on property must complete a health form parts A/B.
