Eagle Merit Badge Program

Event Details

Eagle Required Merit Badge Meeting
Saturdays in January, February and March
Center for Scouting in Mankato
9am - Noon
No cost for Twin Valley Council members (must be first class rank or higher)
Out of council members cost is $40 (must be first class rank or higher)

Open to all Twin Valley Council First Class Scouts or higher rank at no cost (cost is covered by the council program fee).  Open to Out-of-Council First Class Scouts or higher rank are welcome as well for a $40 per class fee.  Classes are limited to 12 Scouts each.

All merit badge meetings will be held at the Center for Scouting (810 Madison Avenue in Mankato) beginning promptly at 9am and lasting until noon.  No food will be provided.  Scouts should bring their refillable water bottle.  These merit badge meetings will be an interactive discussion of the materials in the merit badge pamphlet and the required merit badge activities.  The merit badge meeting is not a passive “lecture” or “class” nor is it “death by PowerPoint”. For these meetings to be successful, participating scouts must adhere to the following requirements.

Scouts should, at the time they sign up via the website, be at least First-Class rank.

Scouts must acquire and read the merit badge pamphlet (now free on the BSA National website) for each merit badge signed up for prior to the merit badge meeting.

Scouts who have not read, in advance, the merit badge pamphlet, should not show up for the merit badge meeting.

Scouts shall complete all listed pre-requisite activities for the merit badge in advance of the meeting.

Merit badges included this year are all four of the Citizenship (Community, Nation, World, and Society), Personal Management, Personal Fitness, Communication, Family Life, and Sustainability.
