The Popcorn Committee is excited to announce our "Good To Great" Popcorn Cruise for 2025!  We will launch at 5pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025, and cruise Albert Lea Lake.  During this cruise you will enjoy sandwiches, snack food and beverages.  We'll enjoy beautiful views, each others company and of course - talk about popcorn.

The Popcorn Committee's purpose is to aide units.  This not only means helping with questions and issues, but also giving units tools to improve their popcorn sale.  On board with us will be 3 guest speakers who will be part of a short presentation.  The theme of the presentation is "Good to Great" and will focus on growing your GOOD sale to a GREAT $20,000+ sale.

Christina Midthun: Popcorn Kernel of the Year for 2025, Popcorn Kernel of Pack 58 in St. Peter and mom to the top popcorn seller in the council for 2 consecutive years.  Christina will share tips and ideas on how to keep the kids motivated, how to create a mixture of all 3 types of selling techniques and how to keep it fun for the kids.  Pack 58 typically has a $30,000+ popcorn sale.

Meghan Bajula-Hagen:  Popcorn Kernel and Committee Chair for Pack 91 in Mankato.  Pack 91 is one of the most active units in the council.  Meghan will share the importance of having a unique and fun calendar full of activities the scouts want to do, how to create the budget/popcorn goal from that calendar and explaining to parents why and how they can meet the $1,500+ per Scout goal.  Pack 91 typically has a $30,000+ popcorn sale.

Mariya Bergquist:  Mariya and Mary Klaseus, Popcorn Kernel and Scout Master Troop 68 in Cleveland, are working together to bring you how to successfully sell popcorn going door to door and in small rural areas.  Mary has one of the smallest troops in the council but the troop has the highest per scout average sale in the council with $2,197.  Mariya will share how to use different techniques including product mix to make these sales, and explain how to maximize a minimal number of scouts.

This event is free of charge but you must register.  Registration closes Tuesday, July 15, 2025, and is limited to 55 people.   This is an invitation adult only event.

Spouses are welcome to join in the fun!

For those popcorn kernels who are "seasoned" (having been a kernel for 2 or more sales), this will count as your Popcorn Kernel Training on the commission climb.  There will an in person training at the August Neighborhood meetings for newer kernels to complete their commission climb, however, newer kernels are encouraged to attend this event as well.

It's going to be so much fun!
