Cuyuna Scout Camp
$270 per Scout BSA

The work force is seeing an increasing need for qualified skilled trade workers.  Is this field for you?  Spend the week at Skilled Trade Camp and discover if this is an area you would like to pursue.  Due to the nature of this camp, it is limited to six participants.

This camp will be lead by Kevin Cole, Twin Valley Council Vice President of Properties, owner of Cole Construction of Fairmont, MN, and Skilled Tradesman.  Kevin will guide participants through real hands-on demolition, framing, electrical work, plumbing, h-vac, painting, finishing and tile work of the Cuyuna Health Lodge area located in the Admin Building.  This is a project Scouts will be able to say "I helped build that" for years to come!

During the week Scouts will meet some of the requirements of the Home Repair, Plumbing and Painting merit badges.  However, this camp is about hands-on experience and not completing merit badges.  All meals will be cooked for you as part of the program.  Participants will need to bring their own tent, camping gear and personal items including work clothes.

All work and no play makes for grumpy campers!  Participants will be given free time as well to enjoy Cuyuna life and activities.  Fishing, Arcade Games, swimming, boating etc. will all be available for use.

Cost for the week is $270 per Scout BSA.  All adult leadership will be provided.  This is a specialty camp so second week of summer camp pricing does not apply.  Due to the nature of this camp, space is limited to 6 participants.  This experience is very different from Cuyuna Summer Camp and is meant to be "in addition to" and not "instead of" Cuyuna Summer Camp.  So yes, Scouts can do both!

All participant of Skilled Trade Camp must be BSA registered and complete a Health Form parts ABC.

Please note:  This is an actual remodel project of the Health Lodge in the Admin building of Cuyuna.  In order to provide this camp and renovations, $7,500 - $10,000 will need to be raised.  Twin Valley Council staff and select volunteers will be working towards raising these funds.  A final decision on the status of this camp will be shared before the early bird deadline of May 6, 2022.
