SCOUT SUNDAY
February 2, 2025
Scouting America designates the Sunday that falls before February 8 (Scouting's Anniversary Day) as Scout Sunday, which is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting. Scouts, adult and youth, are asked to wear their uniform to church this day and to volunteer to assist with church service, as a greeter, or coffee server. Show your church community that Scouting is alive and well. Let's become visible!
Whether it’s your first year or year forty in Scouting, a Scout has always been reverent. Here is a simple list of how you can make Scout Sunday important in your family.
- Lead a prayer at home, in the outdoors, in church or Sunday School
- Serve as greeters or ushers at your church
- Present the religious emblems to youth who have earned them in front of your congregation (especially if your church is your charter organization).
- Commit to some act of service to the congregation in advance of the celebration.
- Recite the Scout Oath and Law.
- Do a PowerPoint presentation of Scouts in action or having fun and show it to the congregation during worship, after service, or social media.
- Have the Scouts and their leaders pre-record a video and stream it to the congregation.
- Incorporate your message into your faith-based organization’s virtual bulletin.
- Invite members of the community to join or volunteer.
- Create opportunities for service to the congregation on Saturday or Sunday.
Scout Sunday is February 2, 2025. Be part of it!
