Scouting for Food is a program with a rich history and tradition.

According to the USDA, more than 34 million people, including 9 million children, in the United States are food insecure.  Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and visit their local food banks and other food programs for extra support.

Scouting Can and Does Help.  Scouting for Food is a great way to make a difference in your community.  It teaches youth valuable lessons about service.

Units should begin making plans on how they can support part of the community. 

Scouting for Food post-it notes will be distributed at the March district meeting.  You will also be notified when they have arrived at the Center for Scouting for pick up.

Once food has been collected please submit total pounds.  Units delivering to the Echo food shelf in Mankato do not need to record their donations.
