Cedar Point Scout Camp
$30 per person
With the long-range weather forecasts for the upper Midwest predicting 150% to 200% or more of our normal snowfall this winter, it is time to re-embrace Minnesota’s second longest season (construction being the first, of course). Located this year at Camp Cedar Point, patrols with their Klondike Sleds will get a chance to experience and practice first hand some of the situations encountered by and skills needed to overcome by prospectors who came to Minnesota during the Vermilion Lake Gold Rush of 1865-66. Staking your claim, through-the-ice rescues, accruing resources (food, fuel, etc.), and preparing for the great sled race! Held on the shores of Lake Iowa (just a bit smaller than Lake Vermilion) and on the lake itself temperatures permitting, it will also be a celebration of this annual winter event with the return (after ten years) of a full-sized ice carousel.
Plan to dress for the weather! Cost is $30 per person with a Hot lunch provided.
Registration is open until Monday, January 27, 2026.
