Base Camp 2021

Located on the grounds of Fort Snelling, Base Camp is an incredible venue offering archery, climbing walls, indoor ropes course (grade 7 and up) and so much more!

On Saturday, December 4, 2021, Twin Valley will be heading to Base Camp for an all night adventure.  Check in begins at 7:30pm and troops are responsible for their own transportations.  Two deep leadership requirements apply.  Once check in is complete Scouts can participate in a variety of activities:

High Ropes – For grades 7 and up, the ropes courses are designed to challenge participants through a wide variety of elements. Individuals can take personal risks and conquer their fears through over a dozen
different ascents, descents, and traverses of our indoor course. 

Rock Climbing – A signature experience at Base Camp is climbing the 30-foot, indoor rock wall. The 16 belayed routes accurately replicate the natural features found in the St. Croix River bluffs near Taylors Falls. All
safety equipment and facilitation is provided by the trained staff. Team climbing allows all members of a group to participate simultaneously – while pair of climbers ascend the wall together, their group members will manage their safety as the belay team from the ground.

Archery – In any weather, Base Camp’s 15-yard, indoor archery range is ready to help first timers or seasoned veterans hone their skills in this activity of physical control and mental concentration.  Staff provide all of the equipment, instruction, and coaching to safely enjoy this unique and challenging program. 

Games - Open game area include awesome games such as Four Square, GaGaball Pit and Basketball.

Troops, this is the perfect event for inviting the 5th grade Arrow of Light Scouts.  Due to Base Camp policy Cub Scouts must be in grade 5 to attend this event.

At midnight, there will be a late night pizza snack and movie, plus quiet time.  Breakfast will be served at 7am and you will be on your way home by 9am on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

Cost to attend this night of fun is $35 per Scout and $10 per adult.  Each person on site must have a completed Health Form A&B, the two Covid 19 forms and Base Camp waiver form, all found below.

Registration is open until November 24, 2021.  This event does not offer a late registration, but substitution can be made.  Please contact Shelley at the Scout Office for substitutions.
