Scoutmaster Complete (Scoutmaster Specific and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills)
What is Scoutmaster Complete?
This training is designed to fully train a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster in one weekend by offering Scoutmaster Specific and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) in one weekend.
Scoutmaster Position-Specific training is the BSA’s initial level of training for the top leaders of Boy Scout troops. It is designed for Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and junior assistant Scoutmasters. However, committee members and other adults connected to a Boy Scout troop are welcome to attend.
IOLS is Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. If you have ever been curious exactly how much fun your Scouts should be having, this training is for you! This Boy Scout skills course will leave every participant with the knowledge every Scout must develop in order to gain the rank of First Class. This is a hands on weekend of fun training. Participants will be part of a patrol and spend the weekend as “Boy Scouts.”
When Scoutmaster Position-Specific training and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) have both been completed, new Scoutmasters will have the tools needed to begin an effective Boy Scouting program. Both Trainings are required to become a full Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster.
