OA Agaming Maangogwan Fall Induction

Event Details

ATTENTION:  Due to confirmed cases of EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) in Clare County, Camp Rotary is not able to host evening activities at this time.  Therefore, our Agaming Maangogwan Fall Induction is being moved to D-Bar-A Scout Ranch in Metamora, MI.  All other details remain the same.  Thank you for your understanding during these unusual times.

Join your BROTHERS of AGAMING MAANGOGWAN Lodge at the FALL Induction & Service Weekend

During the Induction weekend, the lodge will be inducting new Ordeal Candidates, and completing much needed camp service projects!

Due to COVID limitations, our attendance at this event will be capped at 80 participants.  Unfortunately, that means that some people may not be able to attend.  We must offer priority to our Ordeal candidates, and to those existing Arrowmen who are absolutely necessary to conduct the Induction event.  Therefore, we will initially be opening registration only to those two groups.  Registration for all others will open on Monday, September 21st.

For those who have purchased Gold Plans for 2020, your cost for this event is covered.  However, in order to keep track of the number of participants, you must still register.  You should have received an email with a password for registration.  If not, please contact Tom Kiihr at tkiihr@comcast.net.

The regular cost for the weekend is $30 for all members (Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil).

The Ordeal Candidate fee is $58. This includes the regular cost of the weekend, as well as your Induction fee (a Lodge flap, Ordeal sash, OA member handbook, and your new Brotherhood sash if you seal your membership within 12 months).

Bring some extra cash to purchase items at the lodge trading post!

Please bring regular gear for a Scout outing:  sleeping bag, tent, toilet kit, full scout uniform, sash, etc.

For work projects: work clothes, boots, work gloves, etc.

Sleeping is in YOUR OWN TENT!  REMEMBER TO BRING ONE!  Due to COVID restrictions, there will be no cabins or indoor sleeping available.  We will make electricity available for those who require it for CPAP machines.

Meals, activities, and ceremonies are provided as a part of the weekend fee.  However, please keep in mind that the Dining Hall will not be available.  We will be outdoors the entire weekend so please dress and pack accordingly.

All of the COVID Restarting Scouting forms are required FOR ALL people entering camp.  This includes a current Parts A&B BSA health form, the appropriate youth or adult Member Release & Waiver of Liability, and the Supplemental Medical Permission Form for anybody in vulnerable classes or those over the age of 60.  These forms can be found at https://michiganscouting.org/MiScoutingForward/

Masks will be required by all participants at all times (except when eating or when in your own sleeping shelter) while on camp property.  Everybody should plan on having their own tent. Sharing is discouraged unless you are members of the same household.  You must check in and undergo a medical screening before entering camp.  No exceptions.

We will also be maintaining social distancing as much as possible.  There will be some changes to work plans and ceremonies in order to do this.  Your health is of the utmost importance to all of us.

Due to Covid-19 our check in procedures are more in depth than in the past so transportation must be available for all participants through the entirety of the screening process, with adherence to all Youth Protection Guidelines, in case someone needs to be sent home. Participants are discouraged from carpooling whenever possible.
