The National Hornaday Awards Committee and the Central Region, BSA will be offering a William T. Hornaday Award Program Adviser Training Course.  This course is intended for Scouters who are interested in working with Scouting youth in conservation, Council Conservation Committee Members, and those interested in serving as Hornaday Program Advisers within their local Scout Council.

This 16-hour course, instructed by members of the national committee, will help volunteer leaders support their councils and build capacity to tackle conservation work, establish new partnerships within the community and implement effective council conservation and Hornaday Award committees.  The William T. Hornaday awards are extensively covered, as well as opportunities for participants to support Scouting youth through the role of the William T. Hornaday conservation adviser.

The course will begin at 7 pm on Friday evening, Oct. 11 and conclude by 11 am on Sunday, Oct 13.  Meals and lodging will be provided beginning with a Crackerbarrel on Friday evening, through Sunday breakfast. Lodging will consist of canvas wall tent camping with cots, and participants should bring suitable bedding for canvas wall tent camping.  Attire for the course will be the BSA Field Uniform.  Participants should be prepared for classroom and field instruction.
