Winter 2024 Merit Badge Day

Sponsored the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan Gamma Chapter of Tau Beta Pi 

At the University of Michigan Merit Badge Day, Scouts will explore the world of engineering and earn their Digital Technology, Programming, Electronics and Engineering Merit Badges. Scouts will learn about programming and engineering in a fun environment through multiple activities, including developing programs on an Arduino and designing simple websites, as well as learning about important topics in engineering. Scouts will learn from engineering students across several disciplines, and learn more about what it means to be an engineer.

Details: Scouts must be registered to attend the event; unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate drop-in attendees.

Merit Badge Day will be held on Saturday, March 3oth, 2023, from 10am - 5pm, in-person, in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Lurie Biomedical Engineering Building on North Campus (1101 Beal Ave Ann Arbor, MI 48109). Everything required to complete all badges, as well as provide food around noon, will be provided.  

Post-Registration Required Steps:

     1) Keep an eye out for additional information and communications from us regarding the event; these will come from tbp.meritbadge@umich.edu.

     2) Required University of Michigan forms must be completed in advance at http://tbpmig.org/mb-form. Completion of these forms does not constitute registration, which must be done first through the BSA page.

     3) A completed Cyber Chip is necessary to complete all Merit Badge requirements. Completion requires sign-off by a Scoutmaster (Assistant or Main). Please send a copy to tbp.meritbadge@umich.edu. 

     4) Pictures and media will be recorded during the event.

     5) Participants should select the merit badges in Scoutbook and assign Jacob Miller, from Michigan Crossroads (there are multiple, please select the one from Midland, MI with email address millerjv1617@gmail.com) as the merit badge counselor prior to the event.
