Nova SWING! Workshop
at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

February 18, 2017  6pm 

 

Cub Scouts and their families are invited to join us at the  Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum for an evening of science and engineering!

Cubs & Participating Youth $ 22.00  
(Includes program supplies, admission, and light snack)

Adults $ 12.00
Non-Participating Siblings under 11: FREE


Cub Scouts will work on earning the STEM Nova Swing! Award as they investigate simple machines and design and build an invention. Cub Scouts and their families will also enjoy exclusive after-hours access to the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum's 250+ exhibits!

 

Registration Notes

  • At least one adult must register with each Cub Scout.  
  • Other family members, including siblings of all ages, are welcome to attend. 
    • Non-Scouting youth (boys and girls!) ages 7-10 may attend and do the same Hands-On learning workshop with the Cub Scouts.
  • Tigers are not eligible to earn NOVA Awards, but are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate.
  • Please note that there is no on-site parking at the museum. On Saturday nights, there are typically ample spots in the ramp, or at the meters.  Parking is typically around $3.  Many free lots are often available if other events are not going on downtown Ann Arbor.
     

About NOVA Swing!

  • Cub Scouts should complete requirements # 1 and # 2 prior to attending this workshop to earn the NOVA Award
  • Requirements # 3 and # 4 will be completed at the museum   
  • NOVA Counselors we be at the event to work with participants on requirement #5.
  • If Scouts wish to complete #1, #2, and #5 on their own after the workshop, they can take home a Tracking Card with the items they completed, for their Unit Nova Counselor to finish with them.
  • Each paid youth participant in this workshop will receive a special Science After Sundown commemorative patch on the night of the event.
