This year, come and explore Math at the Museum with the STEM Nova Cub Scout STEM NOVA - 1-2-3 Go!

Explore how math affects your everyday life. The University of Michigan Museum of Natural History will be your guide to discovery! Watch a planetarium show and learn about careers in math, and more! Cub Scouts, Webelos and AOL Scouts can complete a large portion of the"1-2-3 Go!" NOVA in this ~ 4-hour session.

Cub Scout Session Check-in begins at 9:30 AM and session runs until 1:30 PM. Cub Scouts and their families are invited to stay with their paid event admission to participate in the Scientist Spotlight Program at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History.

Scouts BSA/Venturing/Sea Scout STEM NOVA - Designed to Crunch

Explore how math affects your everyday life. The University of Michigan Museum of Natural History will be your guide to discovery! Watch
a planetarium show, determine your horsepower, learn about careers in math, and more! Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Sea Scouts can complete a large portion of the "Designed to Crunch" NOVA in this ~ 3.5 -hour session.

At Home Requirements for Scouts BSA/Venturing/Sea Scouts:
○ 1A, B or C: Watch/read an additional two hours of shows or documentaries that discuss mathematics or physics
○ 2: Complete an additional Merit Badge or Equivalent Requirement

Scouts BSA/Venturing/Seas Scout Session Check-in begins at 1:30 PM and session runs until 5:00 PM. Scouts and their families are invited to come early with their paid event admission to visit the museum and participate in the Scientist Spotlight Program at the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History.

Cost: Scout Cost is $25. This includes a ticket to the planetarium, museum browse time, all the lessons/activities and a STEMblem (patch).

Parent/Chaperone Cost is $20. This includes a ticket to the planetarium, museum browse time and attending lessons/activities with your scout(s).

Staff Cost: Nova Counselors volunteering at the event are free. Please contact Maria Peralta if you are a Nova Counselor and are interested in helping us staff the event.

From 11:00 a.m. – 4:00p.m., Scouts are encouraged to attend the museum’s Scientist Spotlight

- a grand collection of professional scientists from all disciplines, each hosting age-appropriate activities and games scattered throughout the museum. Visit with University of Michigan

scientists and participate in engaging, hands-on activities to learn about their cutting-edge research.
