Lifesaving Merit Badge Day

8 AM - 4 PM

Where:
Allegan Aquatics Center and High School
1560 M 40 N, Allegan, MI 49010

Building on skills learned during Second and First Class aquatic rank requirements Scouts will learn lifesaving skills performed in an aquatic environment, aquatic risk mitigation, and causes, prevention, and treatment of aquatic health concerns. While Swimming Merit Badge is not required to be earned prior to Lifesaving Merit Badge it is recommended.
Lifesaving or Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge are required for Eagle.

Participants Must Be:
1. First Class or higher in Rank, or show they have completed the aquatic requirements for Second and First Class.
2. Able to swim 400 yards using each of the following strokes in a strong manner, in good form with rhythmic breathing, for at least 50 continuous yards:
front crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke before continuing in the course.
(Refunds will not be provided if unable to complete the 400 yard swim)

Please bring a sack lunch and Health Forms A&B
