NASA NOVA Day at Gerald R. Ford Museum

Join us for a day in space!! The Gerald R. Ford Museum will host their first STEM Program, and your Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will experience the brand new NASA exhibit while earning the STEM Nova Science Everywhere Award (Cub Scouts),and the STEM Nova Shoot! Award (Boy Scouts).
Morning Session: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Cub Scouts will start the day rotating through three stations including a ride on the AWESOME space bike, completing the STEM Nova Science Everywhere Award*. All Scouts will have the opportunity to experience the NASA exhibit and have hands on workshops all around Space Exploration.
BREAK FOR LUNCH 12:00 NOON - 1:00 PM
Afternoon Session:1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Boy Scouts will work on requirements for the Shoot! NOVA Award* as well as satisfy one of the requirements for the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge.
For safety and supervision, we ask that at least one adult attend in the morning with their Cub Scout. They will be invited to explore the museum either before or after their Cub Scout completes the NOVA award program. Adults who are bringing their Boy Scouts should observe the two-deep leadership rule, and will have the opportunity to explore the museum as well.

All Scouts must wear their Class A Uniform for this event, please. The museum will be open to the public during both Scout Programs.
*Download the attached (at right) tracking sheet for both awards, as some requirements will not be met at this event. They may be done before this event, or after. Scouts will be given a NOVA tracking card, indicating the activities they complete at this event, for their Unit Advancement/STEM Chair.
