2026 National Scout Jamboree Interview Dates

2025 National Jamboree—Michigan Crossroads Council Contingent

Adult leader application, interview, and evaluation process

Jamboree troop adult leader interviews will be conducted on August 16, 2025 in Detroit and August 23, 2025 in Grand Rapids.

1)    Read and understand adult leader position descriptions

2)    Select your interview date

a.    August 16, 2025, MCC Detroit Dauch Scout Center, 1776 W. Warren Ave., Detroit, MI  48208 
b.    August 23, 2025, MCC DeVos Family Center For Scouting, 3218 Walker Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI  49544

3)    Select your interview timeslots

a.    Each candidate will have two (2) interviews
b.    Select two (2) interview timeslots 
c.    Arrive 10 minutes before your first interview and check-in with the interview team

4)    Complete the “2026 Jamboree Prospective Leader Profile”

a.    Send your completed profile to jamboreechair@michiganscouting.org no later than August 2, 2025
b.    No interview will be conducted without a completed prospective leader profile

5)    Interview registration closes on August 1, 2025

Each full MCC unit will have four (4) adult leaders (21+ years old) and 36 youth. The final number of adult leader positions will depend on the number of youth registered with the MCC Jamboree contingent in September 2025.  Adult leader candidates not selected as contingent unit leaders are encouraged to apply for Jamboree staff positions.

Below is a short list of contributions, accomplishments, and experiences that enhance an adult leader’s candidacy:
   - Contribution to the success of the MCC Jamboree contingent through active participation in or leadership of a MCC Jamboree sub-committee
   - Youth recruiting through unit presentations/contacts and recruiting at Scouting events
   - Demonstrated teamwork through MCC Jamboree sub-committee participation
   - Home unit leadership experience
   - Completed position specific training.  Having advanced training such as Wood Badge or Powder Horn is a plus
   - Participation in long-term camping (e.g., summer camp).  Having high adventure experience is a plus

Unit leaders will be required to complete all Jamboree fee payments ($3000 per person) by February 28, 2026.
