Scenic Trails Klondike 2025

The KLONDIKE CHALLENGE in the Scenic Trails District has been successfully testing Scout skills since 1997. The event is taking place on the wooded campus of the Interlochen Center for the Arts, Saturday March 8, 2024. It will be a day of activities for Scouts along a mile-long trail. Proper dress for the weather conditions is vital. We are eager to have your Troop join us for this great event.
Scouts will travel through fifteen events working as a patrol to participate in each station. Patrols should bring supplies to prepare their lunches; they will have 45 minutes to prepare, eat, and clean up.

Demonstrations:
1) Water rescue
2) Sharpening and handling ax, hatchet, knife
3) Hypothermia
4) Ambulance
5) Car wreck with compound fracture
6) Arterial bleeding
7) Knots
8) Smoke-filled room rescue
9) Amateur radio conversations with Scouts abroad
10) Warming cabin with hot chocolate
11) Methods of carrying an injured victim
12) Fire building

13) A-Frame Walk
14) Nuclear Reactor
15) Trolley
Troop check-in will be between 9:00 am and 9:45 am on Saturday with assigned starting stations at 10:00 am. Klondike 2025 will end following the awards presentation around 4:15 pm. Awards will be given for the Scout spirit and best lunches.
