The Order of the Arrow (OA), Pontiac-Manito chapter of the Mishigami Lodge is hosting an Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) for all eligible Scouts. This is an OA Youth Leader led training program for Troop youth leaders to meet Scouts BSA requirements. Topics will include unit organization, leadership & teamwork, and the tools to effectively lead oneself, others, and troops. Additionally, the program will include an overview and demonstration of Scout-led annual unit planning for Troops.

This ILST training will satisfy all prerequisites for the Council-level National Youth Leadership Training typically conducted in the Summer, as well as the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience held at select BSA High Adventure Bases. While not required to attend this course, Scouts should either be in a leadership position or identified to fill a position in the future.

Enrollment as a troop or crew is recommended, but not required. The all-day program will include lunch, snacks, and refreshments (please identify and dietary restrictions in your registration) and attendees will receive a notebook and pen, a certificate and a BSA “Trained” patch upon completion.
