Haunted Woods 2024

This is a recruitment event, so please invite your friends to come and
see/participate in a Scouting event by walking through the haunted woods on
Saturday night starting about 6:00:  https://scoutingevent.com/272-HauntedWoods2024CS
This is also a great opportunity for troops to invite AOL scouts to
participate in the troop campout.

The non-scary time for Haunted Woods 2024 will correspond with the end of the
Verhage Farms Trunk or Treat event (starts at 6:00 pm).
The Haunted Woods Scary Time will start by 9:00 pm and end before 11:00 pm.

For being able to use the orchard at Verhage Farms, each patrol will need to
provide 3 bags or more of candy to support the Verhage Farms trunk or treat
(these will be collected at check in; please have your scoutmaster and/or SPL
ASPL bring them to the check in table).  As part of the Verhage Farms Trunk Or
Treat event, each troop is being asked to bring their troop trailer to be part
of the trunk or treat to have scouts and adults in uniform handing out treats
(this will be coordinated during the day on Saturday)


Scouts BSA will start camping Friday night starting at 6:30.
Scouts will have all day Saturday to work on their Haunted Woods Stations.
All scouts will need to be out of their campsites by 10:30 Sunday morning.

Saturday dinner (burgers and smoked sausages) and Sunday breakfast (Verhage
Farms donuts and cider) will be provided for Scouts BSA scouts and leaders.

For the weekend:
-Medical A&B will be needed for each person (Scouts BSA / leader) who is
staying overnight.  Medical forms must be maintained by the event medical
officer during the event; they will be returned to each troop at breakfast on
Sunday morning.  Please have your scoutmaster bring these to the registration
table when you arrive.

-Potable water needs to be brought to the event by the scouts; we don't have
any running water in the campsite area

-Campfires must stay off the ground (if troops want one please bring a fire
pit that won't damage the ground)

-Hand washing:  We have no running water so please plan to have a way for the
Scouts to clean their hands before eating.
