NOVA Brain Week at Hope College

Join us for a day of exploring the human brain! Hope College will host their Annual Brain Awareness Week by giving our Scouts a hands on STEM Event - discovering the human brain. Your Cub Scouts will experience hands on stations and workshops in the neurobiology labs at Hope College while earning the STEM Nova Tech Talk Award for Cub Scouts.
Morning Session: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm- Scouts are invited to walk around hands on stations at the Hope College Brain Awareness community event hosted in the Schaap Science Hall. Scouts do not have to stay the duration of 9-12:00 rather this is come and go as you please event for the community to experience and learn about the human brain.
NOON - 1 PM BREAK for Lunch
Afternoon Session: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Cub Scouts will work on requirements for the Tech Talk! NOVA Award.. Scouts will not only participate in hands on STEM related activities but also get tours of the neurobiology labs on the Hope College Campus.
For safety and supervision, we ask that at least one adult attend in the morning with their Cub Scout. . All Scouts must wear their Class A Uniform for this event, please.
*Download the attached (at right) tracking sheet for both awards, as some requirements will not be met at this event. They may be done before this event, or after. Scouts will be given a NOVA tracking card, indicating the activities they complete at this event, for their Unit Advancement/STEM Chair.
