11:30a.m. Registration 12-1pm Luncheon
The Fulfilling the Dream Committee cordially invite you to attend our luncheon to honor our 2017 Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award Recipients. The Whitney M. Young Jr Service Award is the highest national award the BSA presents that recognizes outstanding service by an adult individual or by an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds.
This year’s recipients are Fred Keller of Cascade Engineering and GRPS Superintendent Teresa Weatherall-Neal for for commitment and support of inner-city Scouting and to all youth in West Michigan.
The Fulfilling the Dream is a fundraiser to support the Scoutreach program that brings character and leadership development programs to inner-city youth in the Grand Rapids metro area. This program is an opportunity to share Scouting values with youth who may not otherwise receive Scouting.
It is through generous sponsors that the President Ford Field Service Council was able to serve more than 3,000 Scoutreach youth last year and bring programing to 33 schools, organizations and churches. This 2017 event is an opportunity to bring even more value-based programs to our inner-city youth.
For additional sponsorships that will provide more programming for our inner-city youth, see the sponsorship document to the right and contact Paige Caligiuri at Paige.Caligiuri@Scouting.org or 616.785.2662
