IOLS- Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills hosted by Blue Water District

Event Details

Blue Water District is hosting Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) for all eligible Scouters. Working as patrols during this one-and-a-half day course, adult leaders learn the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster position specific training and Hazardous Weather training, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Scouting America troops in order to be considered trained. Facilitated by local volunteer trainers, this course follows the Scouting America course requirements. Attendees will receive a Scouting America “Trained” patch upon completion of the course.
