Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation- BALOO

BALOO is a training event for all Cub Scout Leaders that introduces you to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping. A BALOO trained leader must be in attendance at each pack overnighter.

This energetic course covers outdoor meeting preplanning, ceremonies, site selection, parent involvement, health and safety, equipment, meal preparation and planning, campfire program, and introduction to basic outdoor skills.

ADVANCED REGISTRATION REQUIRED

By completing this training course the participant will:

1) Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA camping program

2) Acquire the skills necessary to plan and carry out a successful camp-out

3) Understand the requirements for successful completion of this activity using National standards as guidelines.
