Adult Leader Trainings held at Delta College on Saturday, December 14, 2019

 

Here is a great chance to become a trained leader or pick up some supplemental training!  Why not pick up some training while your Scouts are in their merit badge classes?

The cost is $6 for the day for all classes (for 1 all day class or 2 half day classes) if paid by December 8 at midnight and will go to $10 Dec. 9.  The CPR / AED Training is an additional $22 - see description below.  Lunch is NOT included, but can be purchased at the Delta Cafeteria.

AHA Heartsaver CPR / AED Training - The total cost is $28.  This covers class usage, training, training materials and CPR Certification card. Lunch is NOT included in this fee.  Two sessions of CPR are offered: 9 am - noon and 1 pm - 4 pm.  Only 18 spots available per session.

 

ALL Day Sessions: 9 am - 3:30 pm

Trainers EDGE (SCO 554) Required training to be a member of a district/council training team.  Also required to serve on staff for Wood Badge, NYLT, and other trainings. (25 seats available)

Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specifics (S24) and Eagle Bridge to SM/SMA Leader Specifics (combined)​ S24 is required training for all Scoutmasters and assistants.  This course provides the understanding of the Scoutmaster role. The course includes the 7 steps of a troop meeting, how to instill the eight methods of Scouting into the troop program, the advancement program, troop finances, troop program planning, the troop organization, the uniform, the paperwork, but most importantly how to deliver the “Promise of Scouting”. Eagle Bridge course is for Eagle Scouts under the age of 24. The Eagle Bridge provides the necessary training to help with the cross over from a youth to an adult in a Boy Scout troop. Completion of this course and Youth Protection (YPT) will complete the required training for Eagle Scouts under the age of 24 to become “Trained” in the Scoutmaster or Scoutmaster Assistant position. This is a great opportunity for college students that are home on break to complete their training. Eagle and birth dates will be verified prior to participants taking the course. (45 seats available)

Venturing/Sea Scouting Leader Specific-  You will be trained to lead a crew or ship. (24 seats)

 

Morning Sessions: 9 am – 11:30 am

Troop Committee Challenge (training) (SCO 573)

This is required training for troop committee chairs and members.  This training has been developed to help troop committee members better understand their roles and responsibilities. Troop committee members will be better prepared to deliver the promise in support of the troop, Scoutmaster, and Scouts. (25 seats available)

Eagle Planning

Adults will learn about how to help Life Scouts plan for Eagle.  Topics include:  The Eagle Project Workbook, successful Eagle projects and more. (25 seats available)

Scout Book

Learn the basics about Scout Book and how to integrate it into your unit. (90 minute session) (2 sessions offered in the AM only)  (25 seats available in each session)

Scoutmaster Conference Training and Conducting Boards of Review

This course covers the “How To” skills for conducting the various types of Scoutmaster Conferences and Boards of Review. This course is based on the National advancement policies.

Eagle Planning

Adults will learn about how to help Life Scouts plan for Eagle.  Topics include:  The Eagle Project Workbook, successful Eagle projects and more.

 

Please wear your uniform.  A health form is NOT required.  We would like you to register beforehand so sessions aren't canceled, but walk-ins will be accepted. 

Room assignments and maps will be sent to all participants for adult leader training the week of MBC. Adults for leader training that are pre-registered will NOT need to sign in at the adult leader training registration desk to they can save time that morning. (All youth will need to sign in according to directions from their unit.)

 

Bring your Scouting Spirit!

Delta will offer lunch for participants for an additional fee.  The lunch specials for 2019 are: 

  • 1- 1/4 lb hot dog, fries, & soda or water for $4.50.  ($2.50 for Hot Dog only)
  • Quarter pound cheeseburger, fries, & soda or water for $6.50 ($4.50 -Cheeseburger only)
  • Chicken tenders, fries, & soda or water for $6.50. ($4.50 for Chicken Tenders Only)
