We will meet at Adventure Point in the morning for the skills portion, then later in the day head to Riverside Park and practice with the gear on the river.

This event is open to all youth, ages 11 - 17 who wish to learn Fly Fishing.  If youth is a registered member of the BSA and wishes to complete the Merit Badge, the pre-requisites must be completed prior to Event Day so that on site MB Counselor can document and sign off on them.

This program provides a unique ONLINE LEARNING VIDEO SERIES that may be completed prior to the course.  Following along at home with lengths of paracord or yarn. We will email the link to the video series to you so that the learner may complete the online series and follow along with some common household items to learn the basics of equipment, flying ties, and other preliminary learning that will make the event day a fun experience.

This is a RAIN OR SHINE Event. Waterproof Boots, and Raincoats advised. Refer to video for a great list of supplies to bring!

No prior experience or equipment is required - we'll provide everything you need to use at this event.

LUNCH Included:  We will provide lunch and bottled water for all registered youth.  We anticipate Adventure Point Sandwiches will be on the menu.  If this doesn't fit with your youth's dietary needs, we ask that you please bring a lunch for them as we will be unable to accomodate any special requests at this event.  Thank you for your understanding!

MERIT BADGE Info:

If you are wishing to take this as a Merit Badge, please be sure to indicate that on your reservation.  We'll provide a Blue Card, as well as notifiy the Merit Badge Counselor in advance to ensure necessary communication in pre-requisites and follow up after the event.

You DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE THIS course as a Merit Badge, but it's strongly encouraged for Scouts BSA to do so.
