Here is a great opportunity to work on an Adventure loop with your Bear Cub Scout. Below you will find the supplies you will need to do this Adventurer Loop.

For the bear: The things each scout will need for this adventure are:

-adult supervision 
-pocket knife
-sharpening stone for the pocket knife (If Someone doesn’t have a sharpening stone and they are motivated to make one I have attached the instructions from the 1984 copyright of the bear book. They could substitute a couple of layers of duct tape for the inner tube and they could substitute a piece of sandpaper for the emery paper.....)
-bar of soap to practice carving on
-pencil
-piece of wood for their carving project
-piece of string that is ok to cut
-a box that they can cut the tape to open
-a sealed envelope 
-a can of food that they can open using the can opener on the pocket knife
-an item that they can remove and replace the screws in using the screwdriver bit on a pocket knife
