Wilderness First Aid Training
Scouters needing Wilderness and Remote First Aid skills and certification for High Adventure Trips should register. This course meets the BSA requirement for at least two current trained leaders in Wilderness First Aid on High Adventure Treks.
This course will provide participants a foundation in first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate medical services (EMS) response.
This course is for any Scout leader or mature youth at least 14 years old needing Wilderness First Aid skills. This course is limited to 35 total participants. This course is approximately 16 hours long and will take place on two Saturdays, March 7 and 21, 2020 at the Dauch Scout Center located at 1776 West Warren Ave., Detroit, MI 48208. Each session begins
at 8:00 am and runs to 4:30 pm. Lunch and all materials are included in
the $80 registration fee.
The WFA course requires that participants have current CPR / AED skills prior to taking the course. ARC, AHA or similar evidence of recent training (within two years) is a prerequisite. Please bring proof if you are current or
sign up on this website for an additional ARC online course in Adult CPR/AED for an additional fee of $12.
