STEM- Fearful Symmetry Nova (Grand Rapids Art Museum)
Saturday March 2, 2019
Grand Rapids Art Museum
10-12:00pm
Cub Scouts - Please join us for a guided tour of the museum’s exhibitions in search of patterns, symmetry, and geometry. Along the way, you will collect clues to complete challenges on their treasure hunt through the galleries to discover how symmetry is used in art.
In the GRAM Studio, you will make two art projects that explore the beauty of symmetry in art. With the help of GRAM Studio staff, you also will make a sculptural lantern that will light up based on the 2014 ArtPrize winner, Intersections by Anila Quayyum Agha, as well as a South African inspired Litema on fabric using print making techniques.
Prior to attending the event, if a Cub Scout would like to complete their NOVA Award at the GRAM, they will need to come with the following requirements done:
-Requirement 1 and 2
The following requirements will be done at the event and there will be NOVA Counselors on site to sign NOVA Cards:
