Trainer’s EDGE Conference
Trainer’s Edge curriculum is for anyone who will be delivering training at the pack, district or council level.
Trainer’s Edge is required for any Scouter on the district and council training teams, Pack Trainers, as well as those serving on Wood Badge Staff. It is recommended for Commissioners and any Scout Leader who wants to learn to communicate ideas better.

The purpose of the Trainer’s EDGE Conference is to provide and help develop the platform skills of a trainer with a focus on the participant, while raising the level of skill a trainer brings. This course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media.
Trainer’s EDGE covers the following four modules:
Module 1—Communicating. Review the basics of verbal and nonverbal communication for a trainer, introduce the EDGE model, and give the participants an opportunity to use the model.
Module 2—Logistics, Media, and Methods. Review media and methods a trainer uses to deliver a syllabus.
Module 3—Directing Traffic and Thoughts—Review how to developing a course culture, facilitation, participant focus, and managing the group.
Module 4—Participant Session—Provide practice in delivering participants’ prepared presentations and feedback.
Prerequisite: A participant taking this course must come prepared to present a short 5-10 minute presentation on a Scouting topic of their choice.
COST: $15.00 (this includes lunch and materials)
