We are pleased to announce the 2018 Merit Badge Tech which will take place at Traverse City’s Career Tech Center (CTC). This partnership will help area Scouts accomplish requirements for up to four merit badges while showcasing CTC facilities and staff. In addition to CTC staff, merit badge counselors are also former students, Scouters, advisory board members, and professionals from our community who have generously volunteered to teach our Scouts.
Please make every effort to complete prerequisites as shown in the course catalog prior to March 10th. Many ask Scouts to draw things, research careers, create lists/menus, and/or visit a place of business or discuss things with a professional – these can be done beforehand. Weather plays an important role with some, so counselors will understand if certain requirements such as cooking while camping are not completed. Scouts are required to review the Merit Badge book, print and fill out the worksheet provided on the registration page and complete all pre-requisites.
Flag Ceremony 8:30 a.m., Session I - 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Lunch - 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Session II - 1-4 p.m.
Cost is $15 before Jan 28 and $18 until the classes fill. Space is limited.
Please bring a Scouting for Food Drive non-perishable food donation. Hot dog lunch will be provided. Vegetarian or special dietary lunches are the responsibility of the Scout and his family.
