Engineering Explosion Day! Whoosh! NOVA Day- Boy Scouts
Join us for a day of exploring the engineering world by building a structure with little bits and hearing about a real-life engineering adventure. Boy Scouts will be working on requirements for the Whoosh! NOVA Award (NOVA Award for Boy Scouts) by working in the Grand Rapids Public Museum Demo lab as a part of their Engineering Week called, "Roger that!".
Boy Scouts will participate in a design challenge using Little Bits electric components. Due to group size restraints, we will be offering two sessions with a lecture in between. The lecture will be between the sessions and will be from Tim Evans, a professor at Grand Valley State University who will be speaking on an incredible engineering excursion. In 2017, he was chosen to do a Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) mission for NASA. His crew of 4 was the first to do a 45-day simulated mission at the Johnson Space Center. You won't want to miss his story!
