Cub NOVA Wild and Boy Scout Shoot! STEM Day at Van Andel Institute

Event Details

Come join us for a day full of science!! This NOVA Day on Saturday November 4th, 2017, will be split into two sessions, one for Cubs and one for Boy Scouts. $20/youth fee covers all of this!

Cubs! Come learn about wildlife including toads, salamanders and geckos first hand from an animal care specialist at Van Andel Education Institute! Explore food webs and the relationships between animals and plants living together in an ecosystem as you investigate the survival needs of animals and the challenges they face living in the wild. Session will start promptly at 9:00 and will end at 11:30am. NOVA Awards start at the Wolf Rank so this event will be for Wolves, Bears, and Webelo. Tigers may attend but will not be able to fully complete their NOVA until they become Wolves.

Boy Scouts! Your afternoon session will allow you to investigate motion as you design and build your own flying devices! Scouts will test and modify their designs as they explore the factors affecting the path of a projectile object. Scouts will meet requirements for their Shoot! NOVA Award. The Boy Scouts Session will begin at 1:00 and end at 3:30 pm.
