Weather Merit Badge at South Shore YMCA Nature Center

What to Bring: Requirements handwritten in a notebook or typed, printed and brought to Merit Badge Course for complete credit! Requirements to complete BEFORE session: #9A, #10, #11 Join Merit Badge Counselors at the South Shore YMCA Nature Center for an opportunity to earn your Weather Merit Badge! This program is designed to help Scouts understand how weather works and how it affects our daily lives, the environment, and human activities. We’ll explore topics such as the atmosphere, cloud types, storms, and weather patterns, while learning how meteorologists observe and predict the weather. Scouts will discover how weather influences safety, outdoor planning, and emergency preparedness, and gain hands-on experience with weather observation and reporting. You’ll also learn how understanding weather can help you make smarter decisions at home, in your community, and during Scouting activities.

Come ready to learn, observe, and have fun as we explore the science of weather together!

Check-in will begin at 11am with the Badge session starting at 11:10 am.
