Join Merit Badge Counselors at the South Shore YMCA Nature Center for an opportunity to earn your Weather Merit Badge!

This program is designed to help Scouts understand how weather works and how it affects our daily lives, the environment, and human activities. We’ll explore topics such as the atmosphere, cloud types, storms, and weather patterns, while learning how meteorologists observe and predict the weather.

Scouts will discover how weather influences safety, outdoor planning, and emergency preparedness, and gain hands-on experience with weather observation and reporting. You’ll also learn how understanding weather can help you make smarter decisions at home, in your community, and during Scouting activities.

Come ready to learn, observe, and have fun as we explore the science of weather together!

Registration is required in advance. Limited spaces available – sign up early to secure your spot! Check-in will begin at 12:00 PM with the Badge session starting at 12:10 PM.

We’re also offering a Morning Merit Badge session for those looking to earn two badges in one day. You can register for both sessions and spend the day exploring the earth in an unforgettable experience!
