Wilderness & Remote First Aid Training-Squanto

Event Details

The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response, such as wilderness and remote environments, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes. This class is based on the American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid syllabus.

This class is open to adults and youth (14 years and older).

A current CPR certification is required to complete the class, but not required before taking Wilderness and Remote First Aid.  Only the following BSA Approved CPR Programs are accepted:
•    American Heart Association
•    American Red Cross
•    Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI)
•    American Safety & Health Institute (also known as Health & Safety Institute)

The certification must include Adult CPR and must also include a hands-on skills session as well.  No “online only” classes will be accepted.

Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, paricipants MUST attend both days.
