This isn’t a typical classroom session; it’s a deep dive into the high-stakes world of SAR where you’ll learn the science of the search, the psychology of lost person behavior, and the critical mechanics of the Incident Command System.

Throughout the day, you will master the grid by using GPS units and UTM coordinates to pinpoint locations with surgical precision. You’ll put your skills to the test in a high-energy "hasty search" simulation, where your patrol will execute a real-time rescue operation, practice clue awareness, and learn how to preserve evidence in the field.

From signaling mirrors to high-tech locator beacons, you’ll discover the tools professional rescuers use to save lives in the most challenging environments.
