Nature Merit Badge at South Shore YMCA Nature Center
Join our Merit Badge Counselors at the Nature Center for an exciting opportunity to earn your Nature Merit Badge!
This program is designed to help you understand multiple aspects of the natural world and how they all interact with each other.
We’ll explore the Nature Center looking at plants, mammals, birds, insects, reptiles and more. You’ll learn about the food chain and how plants and animals are connected. We’ll discuss the concept of “Leave No Trace” and how to enjoy nature respectfully.
After earning your badge, we’ll engage in hands-on service projects around the Nature Center. These projects will help enhance our natural environment while giving you the chance to put your newfound knowledge into action.
Check-In will begin at 10am. The session starting promplty at 10:15 am.
Come ready to learn, work, and have fun as we enjoy and learn about all nature has to offer!
What to Bring: Weather appropriate clothing for outdoors, lunch (peanut free), refillable water bottle, Requirement 4-F(2) Shell Mounts, Notebook and Pencil.
Requirements before you come: Requirement 7: A or B and Requirement 4-F(2): Collect, mount, and label six shells. All requirements must be completed before check in at the event.
Check-in will begin at 10 am with the session starting promptly at 10:15 am.
