Welcome to Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops ~ ILST!  

Youth Leadership is a vital part of the Scouting program. Youth, in positions of leadership, run the troop.  They handle the many tasks necessary for troop and patrol meetings and activities to run smoothly!  Training youth to be leaders is an ongoing process that begins immediately when a Scout accepts a leadership position in the troop.   In Support of the Scoutmaster’s responsibility to ensure the Scout has all the necessary tools and to coach and mentor other Scouts, the Mayflower Council Training Committee is offering three ILST trainings, one at each of our Scout camps! 

Adults must register for the course, and each registered adult can bring up to three youth leaders to the training. Unit registrations only, NO individual Scout registrations. 

If your unit has more than three youths, you must register 2 (or 3) adults.   The Youth and adults will have separate training sessions.  

Check-in opens at 7:30 AM, Course runs from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Arrive in your ScoutsBSA Field Uniform, footwear for games, and appropriate clothes for the weather.  You must bring your own snacks, lunch (we have nut allergies), a notebook, pen, a water bottle to this fun fast-paced training and of course Scout Spirit! 

We encourage unit leaders to bring your Troop Leaders Guidebook, and the youth to bring their Senior Patrol Leaders handbook or Patrol Leader handbook.  

Units will be responsible for presenting the TRAINED patch to the scouts after course completion.

The Early price is $10 for Mayflower Council and $15 Out of Council until 12/2, then the regular price is an additional $5. The price is per adult with up to 3 Scouts.
