Sustainability Merit Badge Day

Time:

Registration will begin at 8:30AM, with the Merit Badge session running from 9AM - 12PM.  

Cost:

Merit Badge participants: $15 (This includes program supplies for the Merit Badge course).

All merit badge participants must be pre-registered due to limited space.

Adult chaperons may attend at no-cost.

The event will be hosted inside Mickman Brothers, Inc.'s facility.  Specific instructions about locating the check-in area will be sent leading into the event to registration contacts.  

Additional Information:

- Scouts will complete all of the requirements excpet for requirement 2 Water A, 2 Food A, 2 Energy B or C, and 2 Stuff A.  The portions of requirement 2 having tracking elements that cannot be completed in a day.  Scouts can either complete the tracking ahead of time, or follow-up with mwest.scoutsbsa@gmail.com after the event to secure their signatures of completion.  

- Participating Scouts should wear their field uniforms ("Class A" uniforms) to the event.

-  As a Scouting activity, all participants are required to fill out Part A and B of the Annual Health and Medical Record.  

- Each youth needs to bring a pre-filled merit badge card and it is recommended to have a copy of the Sustainability Merit Badge worksheet (link for the MB Workbook).

- All Scouts taking the Merit Badge are strongly encouraged to read the Sustainability Merit Badge book prior to the event.

- Please note there is a limit of 40 Scouts for this event.  A waitlist will be used once the limit of Scouts is reached.  If you are registered and cancel your registration by Sunday, September 10 at 11:59 PM we will reimburse you if someone is able to fill your canceled registration.

- Lunch will not be provided as a part of the event.

- We are asking each group of youth signed up to bring an adult and follow at least a 10:1 ratio youth-to-adult ratio.

- Scouts will be released from the course around 12PM.  After release from the course, Scout supervision will be the responsibility of parents and chaperons.
