Wild Mountain Snow Sports Merit Badge Day 2024

Northern Star Scouting is excited to partner with Wild Mountain to offer a Snow Sports Merit Badge Day on Saturday, December 14th! Scouts who attend will be able to complete most if not all of the requirements for either the Snowboarding or Downhill Skiing requirements of the Merit Badge.

Date: Saturday, December 14, 2024

Time: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Location: Wild Mountain, 37200 Wild Mountain Rd, Taylors Falls, MN 55084

There are several registration options:

  • Scout Participant with Gear- this is for Scouts who will need to rent equipment at the event.
  • Scout Participant with No Gear- this is for Scouts who want to bring their own ski/snowboarding equipment
  • Adult Participant with Gear- this is for Adults who want to participate at the event and will need to rent equipment at the event.
  • Adult Participant with No Gear- this is for Adults who want to bring their own ski/snowboarding equipment and participate at the event
  • Adult Chaperone- this is a no-fee registrant who will be attending with their unit at the event, but not skiing or snowboarding.

All registrations include a lift ticket and a mandatory lesson. Participating in the lesson will satisfy many of the requirements for the Merit Badge.

All participants must complete the Wild Mountain Participant Waiver.

Additional Information:

  • Participating Scouts should dress accordingly with any appropriate winter gear for the day.
  • As a Scouting activity, all participants are required to fill out Part A and B of the Annual Health and Medical Record.  
  • Each youth needs to bring a merit badge card and it is recommended to have a copy of the Snow Sports Merit Badge workbook
  • All Scouts taking the Merit Badge are strongly encouraged to read the Snow Sports Merit Badge book prior to the event.
  • Lunch will not be provided at the event. Scouts attending will need to bring their own bag lunch or plan to purchase lunch at the program site.
  • Scouts attending without a unit should have an adult chaperon on-site.  Units participating in the event should provide adult supervision in line with Youth Protection guidelines.
