Minecraft Wilderness Survival Challenge

Requires a smartphone, iPad, Android tablet, or Windows 10 computer with Minecraft Pocket Edition, or Minecraft Windows 10 edition installed. Also will need a free Microsoft/XBox login for multi-player gaming. We will send out a detailed procedure on how to connect to the game the week of the event.

Minecraft Bedrock edition is newer to the PS4, so you will need to check that you have the correct and most up to date version. We have less experience connecting PS4, but it should follow similiar instructions to the Xbox.

DATE:     Saturday, January 16

TIME:     9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

COST:    $10 per player (every player receives a patch for participating and a pin if you complete the challenge)

LIMIT:    15 participants

We are asking everyone to test their connection to our world on Wednesday, January 13 at 6:30-8:00 p.m. following the instructions we provide. We will have limited time to work through connection issues on the day of the event.

CHALLENGE:       

Survive through the whole session AND collect the supplies needed for your campsite. List of supplies is provided below.

GAME PLAY:

- The settings will be on “Survival” for all participants

- The duration will be 2 hours. Settings will start on “Peaceful” for the 30 minutes. The difficulty will then increase to “Easy” for 30 minutes, “Normal” for 30 minutes, and “Hard” for 30 minutes.

- At the end of the allotted time, the settings will be returned to peaceful and all players need to return to their campsites.

- Once players have returned to their campsites, a staff member will teleport to you and review your campsite for the required items (see list in the attachments and/or will be emailed).

OTHER RULES AND FAQ:

- See attachments for more gameplay specific settings

- You will need to provide your gamertag (the name above your characters head) for registration. This allows us to track who has completed the challenge and provide them the correct awards.

- Game Chat: this is a survival event, so the chat will only be used to provide in game updates such as time left or other instructions. It is not to be used by players during the game.

- Direct Messaging is not allowed during this event. It is not ever allowed between players that do not know each other, and for this event it is not allowed between any players (even those who know each other). This is a survival event you are to be completing by yourself.

- If you die during the game for any reason, you will have the option to respawn. You will no longer be eligible for the survivor pin, but you are welcome to continue to play and try to collect the supplies for your campsite.
