2025 Northern Star Scouting Fall Camporee Series

Event Details

2025 Northern Star Scouting

Fall Camporee

Camporee Series Overview

Team up with your partnering Scouts BSA troop and see camp activities in action!

Troops are encouraged to reach out and invite AOL Dens of associated Packs to join them. AOL Dens will act as a Patrol within the Troop. The AOL Scouts will practice working together as a Patrol independently under Scout youth leadership.

Troops will plan their own menus and provide their own food. This is a great opportunity for Troops to show AOL Scouts and their parents why they should join Scouts BSA for the next step on the Scouting adventure trail.

Fall Camporee #1

Location: Stearns Scout Camp

Date: September 26th-28th, 2025

The Northern Star Scouting Fall Camporee will be September 26-28 at Stearns Scout Camp. The theme for this Camporee is Crafts and Trades. We are looking for Scouters or other volunteers who work in the skilled trades or have craft skills they use in a hobby that they would be willing to share with Scouts at this event. We would like to have booths where Scouts could participate in some kind of hands-on activity to learn more and spark interest in doing things with their hands and minds. Some possibilities include carpentry and other forms of woodworking, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical, masonry, electronics, blacksmithing, metalwork, auto mechanics, ceramics, weaving, basketry, and many more.

We are seeking volunteers to share craft and trade skills with Scouts and Fall Camporee. If you have a skill you would like to share, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Dave Yarusso, daveyarusso@gmail.com.

NEW THIS FALL: We will be offering Part One of the new three-part IOLS Passport training program for adults who attend the event with their unit. There will be four round-robin sessions available during the program hours of camporee- 9AM-12PM and 1PM-4PM. Part Two can be completed by participating in the online Scoutmaster-specific training on My.Scouting, and Part Three can be completed by attending the IOLS Passport Session at the University of Scouting on Saturday, October 25th.

There is no additional fee for participating in the training, and you can register for it by selecting the Adult Participating in IOLS Training registrant type. There is a limit of 40 participants for the training.

This is a great way to have leaders come out to assist your unit getting set up at camporee and get their training completed before heading home on Sunday. Volunteers who have troops attending the camporee will have the option to go back to their unit site for the overnight and camp with their unit.

Conservation Service Day Camporee (Fall Camporee #2)

Location: Fred C. Andersen Scout Camp

Date: October 3rd-5th, 2025

The Conservation Service Day Camporee is focused primarily around the service project offered by the US Fish & Wildlife Service, and will not have Merit Badge opportunities. Scouts and Scouters will be bussed off-site to assist the US Fish & Wildlife Service with prairie restoration and seed collection. Space for this event is limited due to constraints around the service project itself.

NOTE that this year, the Fall Camporees will be focused on providing activities and programming that will NOT center around completing Merit Badges. Some requirements for select badges may be completed, but Scouts should not expect to leave the event with completed Merit Badges.

More specific program information and Leader's Guides will be available for the events as the dates get closer.

Event Costs

  • Youth $25
  • Adult $15
  • Staff $10
