2024 Northern Star Scouting Fall Camporee Series

2024 Northern Star Scouting
Fall Camporee
Camporee Series Overview
Team up with your partnering Scouts BSA troop and see camp activities in action!
Troops are encouraged to reach out and invite AOL Dens of associated Packs to join them. AOL Dens will act as a Patrol within the Troop. The AOL Scouts will practice working together as a Patrol independently under Scout youth leadership.
Troops will plan their own menus and provide their own food. This is a great opportunity for Troops to show AOL Scouts and their parents why they should join Scouts BSA for the next step on the Scouting adventure trail.
The theme for the Stearns Fall Camporee event will be Logging and Forestry! Scouts will have the opportunity to participate in a series of Logging-themed competitions and learn about Logging and Forestry in Minnesota.
Location: Stearns Scout Camp
Date: September 20th-22nd, 2024
The theme for the Fred C. Andersen Fall Camporee event will be Ecology and Conservation! Scouts will be able to participate in the Conservation Service Day project in tandem with the US Fish and Wildlife Department, where Scouts will help facilitate prairie seed collection. That time will count as service hours for ranks, as well as towards requirements for the appropriate conservation-themed Merit Badges, such as Environmental Science and/or Sustainability. All participants need to complete the US Fish and Wildlife Participant Waiver, located on the event site.
Location: Fred C. Andersen Scout Camp
Date: October 4th-6th, 2024
NOTE that this year, the Fall Camporees will be focused on providing activities and programming that will NOT center around completing Merit Badges. Some requirements for select badges may be completed, but Scouts should not expect to leave the event with completed Merit Badges.
More specific program information and Leader's Guides will be available for the events as the dates get closer.
Due to program and staffing limitations, the Stearn Fall Camporee will have a participant capacity of 350 Scout youth attendees. Adults will not have a maximum capacity. The Fred C. Andersen Fall Camporee will have a TOTAL capacity of 150 registrants.
Event Costs
- Youth $25
