Camporee Series Overview

Join your fellow Troops and Crews from across Northern Star Scouting for a weekend of Scout skills, and fellowship during our two Fall Camporee weekends. Fall Camporees are an excellent opportunity for your unit to demonstrate proficiency in Scout skills and teamwork. Each Fall Camporee event is open to all Northern Star Scouts BSA Troops or Venture Crews regardless of district affiliation. 

The 2022 Fall Camporee series will be held on two different weekends. Join us September 23-25 at Stearns Scout Camp, or October 7-9 at Phillippo Scout Camp. Our 2022 theme is Survival is Courage, and we will be offering the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge as a built-in program option, in addition to skills stations and other activities. Expect to partake in challenge based-events, instructional sessions, and learn outdoor skills from guest organizations and instructors. The camporee packet with details and registration information will be distributed at a later date. We hope to see you this Fall!

Event Costs

This year we will be offering an early discount rate!  Get your registrations in by Monday August 15th and pay less:  

• Early Discount Youth $25
• Early Discount Adult $15

After August 15th, prices will increase:

• Standard Price Youth $35
• Standard Price Adult $20

Webelos and Arrow of Light Scout (4th /5th grade Webelos) Participation

Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts are encouraged to attend, but must register with an attending unit.  This event is considered a transition and retention activity and Webelos can participate alongside Scouts BSA Troops.  A programming offering exclusive to Webelos will be offered during the event,    

Frequently Asked Questions (Updated 8/3/2022)

Do we need to bring any specific materials for our participating Scouts?

Yes - please ensure that each Scout has a 10' x 12' tarp, enough rope per Scout to secure a tarp to the provided staves in order to build a shelter, and a 9-volt battery.     

What if a participant shows symptoms of COVID-19 after attending a Fall Camporee event? 

Our expectation is that any participant who exhibits symptoms of COVID-19 would promptly contact their physician for evaluation.  If a test is administered and the results are positive for COVID-19, a public health official will contact the individual. Please discuss the individual’s involvement in a Scouting activity with them and provide Northern Star’s contact information (Kris Burbank: 612-261-2450 or kburbank@northernstar.org).  Public health will reach out to us directly.

If the symptoms occur greater than 14 days after conclusion of the activity the risk of COVID related to the activity or transmission to others present at the activity would be extremely low. 

Will meals be provided?

Meals will not be provided as a part of the event.  Please plan on developing your own unit menu and providing equipment accordingly.  

Are Health Forms and Pre-Screening Forms required for participants on-site for less than 72 hours?

Yes, all participants remaining on-site will require a Pre-Screening Form and Health Form to be submitted. 

What is the event refund policy?

• If a cancellation is made at least 30 days prior to the event start date, a full refund is issued.
• Any cancellation made between 30 and 14 days of the event start date will be refunded at 50% the total registration fee. Refunds are not issued within 14 days, except in cases of emergency. 
• If the event is canceled by the organizer and the rescheduled event date cannot be attended by the participant or group, a full refund will be issued. 

What if I have Scouts that already have earned the Wilderness Survival Merit Badge?

There will be plenty of unique programming at the Camporee to engage Scouts that have already earned the Merit Badge.  Stations will be designed to cover Merit Badge requirements, but will be engaging even for those that have already earned the Merit Badge.
