ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF SCOUTING EXTENSION SERVICE FOR ADULT LEADERS 

NEW SERIES COMING MAY 6-JUNE 14!

As part of our commitment to reach the widest possible audience, University of Scouting is offering a series of Zoom classes for Adult Leaders online, plus an in-person opportunity.  Online sessions will take place on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening starting at 6 or 7pm and will last around an hour, unless a different duration is specified. They will include one or two presentations, followed by Q&A time. There is no cost for these sessions.

Spill the Tea on ADHD - Judy Richardson-Mahre

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is something we hear about often and many of us encounter individuals who have ADHD daily at work, at home, and at scouts.  But what is ADHD?  And, when we encounter it, how do we handle it?  This course will give you a quick overview of what ADHD is and what it isn't.  It will also provide practical tools to help work with scouts who have ADHD at Scout Meetings and at Scout Camps in a way that is calm, respectful, and effective.

Building a Membership Pipeline for Recruiting through Community Engagement - Nick Pedersen

Successful recruiting new members is rarely a “one and done” interaction, but on ongoing process of connecting with potential families about the benefits of Scouting. Join us for this session to hear how one unit leverages community events, unit activities, and ongoing follow-up throughout the year to build awareness of Scouting and grow their unit membership by over 50%.
