Leave No Trace Skills Course for Youth /Level 1 Instructor Course for Adults
May 31 - June 1, 2025
EVENT DETAILS: This course is for BSA registered adults and youth at least age 14 and meets youth requirement for the National Medal for Outdoor Achievement. Strongly suggested for experienced scouts, Cubscout and Scout leaders. Participants will be prepared to demonstrate minimum impact techniques and share activities. Adults will be certified to teach BSA Leave No Trace course
When: Saturday, May 31st arrive 7:30a.m. - Sunday, June 1st leave by noon
Where: Stearns Scout Camp – Check in at Briggs. Plan to be outdoors Saturday, regardless of weather!
What: Participate in low impact activities that protect natural resources and outdoor experiences. Adults seeking Level I Instructor status teach a principle to the group. Youth practice skills to share with units. Three meals provided. Notify of food allergies or special accommodations needed. Early arrival can be arrange for those traveling long distances.
Bring: Health form, waiver, over night camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, pad, tarp, mess kit, water bottle, rain gear, personal items), and snacks if wanted.
Cost: $45 per participant registered before September 30th, after, $55 per participant. Cost covers materials, facility fees and meals.
