2022 Lodge Leadership Development (LLD)
What:
Lodge Leadership Development is an annual training hosted by the Totanhan Nakaha Lodge for current chapter, constellation, and lodge officers, as well as Order of the Arrow members aspiring to serve in a youth leadership capacity in the future. Sessions offered during the training are taught by youth and adult subject matter experts, and cover a wide range of topics from member retention to conclave ceremony preparation.

Course Trek 1 (New Members)
- Fundamentals and Terminology of the Order of the Arrow
This session will help Arrowmen gain a deeper understanding of how the lodge is organized both logistically as well as how the values of the Order can be applied to their home lodge.
- Cheerful Service in the Community
This training will help you plan,execute, and reflect on service projects in your community.
- How to Plan and Manage Time
This training will help inspire arrowmen to plan dynamic events
- Tools for Thinking Creatively
This training will help you think out of the box and look for unique ways to solve problems.
- Lodge Chief Question and Answer
Sit down with the 2022-2023 Lodge Chief and ask questions for the upcoming year.
Course Trek 2 (Officers)
- Where are my Resources as an Officer 101
Throughout this training, new and prospective officers will learn how to find all the resources available to them, as well as understand some of the leadership "lingo" used throughout the lodge.
- Leading Versus Serving
This session will help encourage the “Servant leader” style of leadership
- Working with Districts and the Council
This training will help you utilize your local district and council to plan and operate future plans.
- Group Communications
This training session will help arrowmen learn how to communicate with groups of various sizes through multiple different medias
- Visions and How to Share Them and Execute Them
This session is for arrowman who want to learn how to make their visions become a reality
Course Trek 3 (Adults)
- Adult Role in the Eyes of the Youth
This session will identify the difference between the adult’s role in the Boy Scouts of America versus the adult’s role in the Order of the Arrow, as well as effective communication
- Membership Retention
This session is for arrowmen who want to learn the ins and outs of membership retention, as well as what does and doesn’t engage Order of the Arrow members.
- One on One Communication
This training session instructs Arrowmen on how one on one communication can aid in membership retention.
- Unit Relations
Throughout this training, leaders will learn how to best work with their local units and how to create a better bond with them utilizing local Order of the Arrow Representatives.
- Performing Effectively
This training is for arrowman who want to become more active in the lodge leadership by helping them realize what position to take, and how to be prepared to take on that role.
Cost:
Free! This event is offered at no-cost to youth participants.
Adult participants (21+ years of age) are $5 each to help offset meal and facility costs.
COVID-19:
Depending on conditions in the state of Minnesota at the time of event, instructions will be sent later this year on any required procedures.

This event is for chapter, constellation and lodge officers as well as Order of the Arrow Unit Representatives, or those interested in leadership opportunities within the Order of the Arrow.
