Crow River BALOO Training 2019
Crow River District
BALOO Training
BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is a supplemental course designed to teach adults how to plan and execute an outdoor activity for Cub Scout groups. It is the entry level introductory outdoor training of the Boy Scouts of America. In order for a Cub Scout Pack to go camping, it must have a BALOO trained leader in charge of and present at the activity. Leaders who have completed Webelos Leader Outdoor Training are also qualified to lead a pack camping trip.
We encourage packs to have as many adults as possible attend training and create a deeper resource pool for activity leadership.
This course requires overnight camping experience as a part of the course.
Participants should bring personal camping gear and be prepared to camp for one overnight (tent, cot or sleeping pad, sleeping bag, rain gear and clothing as required for outdoor activities). If the participant’s troop is attending the Spring Camporee, participants are welcome to camp with their troop, but need to prepare and eat meals with the BALOO Course.
Meals: Participants should eat dinner before arrival on Friday night.
Evening snack, breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Participants will be on their own for dinner on Saturday evening.
